At the core of our vision is the Asian community, symbolized by our coined term “Fusian” – a harmonious blend of “Fuse” and “Asian.”

passed laws to take away the land from Native people and gave U.S. citizens the ability to own land taken from Native people, free of charge. Asian Immigrants were almost never granted citizenship, and they rarely owned lands.
Asian farmers were not allowed to own their land on the west coast, and these laws affected our families for generations. In 1920 more than 26,000 Asian and Asian-American farmers contributed to the Northwest’s economy.

We know little about the individual Chinese workers on the railroads.
But a plethora of photos helps us remember that each worker had their own individual dreams and stories. Their experiences represent railways to the dreamland.
